Dissimilarity and distance coefficients in automation-supported thesauri

摘要

An important problem when creating thesauri with computer support is how to generate and check relations between descriptors. The use of a fuzzy dissimilarity relation in the thesaurus is proposed; furthermore, given a dissimilarity measure which does not fulfil the triangle inequality, an algorithm is given for converting this measure to a distance measure which does fulfil the triangle inequality.
