Taxa and super taxa of schema evolution and their relationship to activity, heartbeat and duration
作者:
Highlights:
• We report on the largest study of schema evolution ever, over 195 FOSS projects.
• The absence of schema evolution is more prevalent than its presence.
• We introduce 6 families of evolutionary behaviors, or, taxa of schema evolution.
• Evolution measures differ in analogy to the “liveliness” of each taxon.
• We group taxa into a clean hierarchy of super taxa with well-separated higher levels.
• We show that typically schema evolution is an activity of high time-concentration.
