Data Security Management in Distributed Data Bases

This paper analyzes the problem of Data Security Management in a Distributed Data Base made up of an aggregation of heterogeneous Local Data Bases. The architecture proposes different logical security levels, introducing an Intermediate Conceptual Level between the Network Schema and the Local Conceptual Schema; for each logical level a Data Definition Model is presented. A Binary Model is presented, describing the security data at Intermediate Conceptual Level together with a Relational Model for data description at the Network Level. Mapping between the different proposed levels is analyzed considering the requirements of correctness and consistency of the mapping operations.Some examples illustrating these concepts are given.
