Information theory and information processing

摘要

The early promise of information theory has not been fulfilled in the arena of human perception and cognition, though interesting applications continue to be made in the newer areas of experimental psychology. Information-theoretic approaches have been largely displaced by information processing methods, several examples of which are reviewed in the domains of memory and thinking.
