More guns, less crime? A dynamical systems approach
作者:
Highlights:
• The prevalence of gun-related crimes is described by differential equations.
• Illegally and legally-obtained guns are taken into consideration.
• From this model, two policies of gun control are analytically examined.
• Strong gun-control minimizes the number of guns, but violent crime remains endemic.
• Weak gun-control eradicates crime only if the number of legal guns is maximum.
