摘要

The purpose of this paper is to compare the two computerized classification procedures called RPA and ACLS from an analytical point of view. RPA was developed to alleviate the methodological or statistical problems of traditional classification procedures. ACLS was developed to solve the bottleneck problems of the direct knowledge acquisition method in developing expert systems. So far, the above two procedures have been compared with discriminant analysis (DA) in the current literature which reported that they performed better than DA. However, the two procedures were not compared against each other. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the two procedures on a comparison basis and to apply these two procedures to the bankruptcy model in finance to see the conditions under which one of them works better than the other.
